from Speed Reading Simplified by Trent Ogren
Submitted by Edward on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 7:49am- Always use your finger or the end of a pen to guide your eyes by pointing it under the words you are reading. (This really helps to make you conscious of the speed at which you are reading, which is surprisingly important.)
- Every day, read something you chose for 10 minutes at your normal speed and mark where you started and finished. Then try reading that exact same passage in 5 minutes.

Oswego Public Library Provides Access to Gale Testing and Education Reference Center
Submitted by Edward on Fri, 12/02/2011 - 11:16amThe Gale Testing and Education Reference Center database replaces Learning Express, which is no longer available. The resources available at the Gale database are similar to those at Learning Express, but the interface is a bit more intuitive and easy to use. The Testing and Education Reference Center will use the library card number and PIN like the other Gale databases and not require establishing a special account. Enter your info in the top right and then scroll down or jump to Careers & Education.
