Ian Schoenherr's latest is here. Check out Don't Spill the Beans!
The Oswego Public Library is pleased to receive a signed copy of Read It, Don't Eat It! written and illustrated by Ian Schoenherr. His aunt, Marian Chermack a resident of Oswego, donated the copy to the children of the Oswego Public Library. His cousin Lisa Chermach, worked at one time in the library's children's room.
Ian Schoenherr grew up -- reading -- near Locktown, New Jersey. He has written and illustrated two other books, Cat & Mouse and Pip & Squeak, and illustrated numerous books by other authors, including Little Raccoon's Big Questions by Miriam Schlein. The artist lives in Woodside, Queens.

STORYHOURS
Storyhours return on Wednesday, September 8th!
Storyhours are held on Wednesday afternoons @ 1:30pm and Friday mornings @ 10:30am in the Children's Room from September through June. Activities include stories, crafts, and treats. A parent (or other designated adult) must stay with the child during storyhours. If the weather is inclement, call 341-5867 to see if the program will be held. For more information contact Karen Swartz, Children’s Program Coordinator.

Employment Applications can be found at the City of Oswego website. The Oswego Public Library is seeking additional applicants for two 20-hr/wk Technology Instructor positions in the Public Computer Center created by the Broadbandexpress@yourlibrary grant. Please send cover letter, resume, references, and application for full time employment from the site above. The applicant pool will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on September 10th.

The New York State Library, a unit of the Office of Cultural Education within the New York State Education Department (NYSED), has been awarded $9.5 million in a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to expand computer access in public libraries across New York State. The funding is being provided through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). |
