We are pleased to inform you that the North Country Library System has created online registration for new card members!
If you do not already have a library card, you can fill out the form here to receive a card: https://catalog.ncls.org/client/en_US/nclscat/search/registration/
If you already have a library card and need to renew your privileges with it, then you must call us and we can renew it by phone. If you have any restrictions on your account currently they will need to be resolved before it can be renewed.
When you register for a card, your Home Library will be where the library items that you check out are automatically shipped to. This can be manually directed to a different library for pick up if necessary.
Any interlibrary loan item or internet kit must be picked up and returned to the library they are borrowed from.
On active card from the ncls.org/NCLS Library System will work in all libraries that are a part of their organization.
The hold limit @ Oswego Public Library which was normally set at 10 has now been set for 30 items.
Checkout totals are normally 20 items per card - the new set total is 30.
The length of the loan period varies depending on the item (book, DVD, audiobook, etc.)
Oswego has a 4 DVD limit per adult card, with a total checkout of 8 DVDs per week per adult card due to limitations, as items need to be quarantined for 3 days after they are returned.
Audio books are limited to 4 per card.
Civil Service Study Guides are limited to 2 per card.
Magazines are currently not eligible to be checked out to patrons.
Thank you for your patronage, understanding, and anticipated cooperation.
