Summer Reading Program - Kick Off Challenge

Hello everyone! We are excited to announce out Kick-Off activity for the Summer Reading Program this year!

We are asking members of our local community to decorate front-facing windows of their home with fairy tale and fantasy characters and creatures for a search-and-find activity for kids to participate in. Local business will also have an image of a fairy tale character visible that the kids can seek out and find. If a child completes the challenge sheet attached to this post finding the fairy tale characters, then their parent can take a photo of it and message us here on Facebook, and we will send them some stickers as a prize!

This activity will begin on July 6th! You can find the challenge sheet here, some information on how it will be organized, and a clue sheet for where to look for fairy tale characters in local businesses! We hope you all have fun, please check back here and our website as well for links to our craft and story hour times and different online activities that we will be hosting.

Here is one of the resources that can be found via Novel NY's facebook page: The Digital Public Library of America! This is an online library that consists of different literary works (both fiction and non-fiction), images, videos, and other different kinds of media that are a part of the Public Domain. This means that these materials are available for download and usage in your home at absolutely no cost, and no library card is needed!
